Amanda, Brett + Ethan {Cute little family shoot}

I am close friends with Amanda, Brett & Ethan. I met them when I started going to church in 2011 and we'd been talking about doing a photoshoot for a while. I've watched little Ethan grow up from just shy of 6 months - the nearly 3 years he is today. During this time Ethan has developed a strong love of all things music. He would rock out in the front row on his blue ukulele while the musicians are playing and even decided he really liked me because I would sing on stage every now and then.

Brett approached me sometime in early January to organise a photoshoot for his beautiful wife Amanda. Brett wanted it to be all about her. He wanted her to get pampered, get her hair done & get some beautiful photos of Amanda exactly how he sees her every day; glowing, happy, natural & stunning. He wanted to keep it a secret and surprise her on the day. I organised Antoinette from Creative Colour Artistries to do Amanda's makeup and I also suggested that Brett & Ethan join later on for a full family photoshoot after Amanda's individual session as a second surprise.

The Harris' decided on the beach to match the colours and theme in their house. Before the shoot Amanda ended up being told what was happening due to changes in the date, so this gave us a chance to choose outfits, styling & even props! Knowing that Ethan was only 2.5 years old, we figured it would be best to give him something to do on the day, hence the beach cricket. And of course, we had to include his blue ukelele & 'drummers hat'! He doesn't go anywhere without those!! I just love what we came up with and I was totally honoured to be able to capture this beautiful little family & give them something to remember this time for many years to come.

I hope you enjoy these photos, and I hope they're exactly how you imagined them A,B & E!

Much love,

Stephanie + Tomas {ENGAGED}

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Yesterday myself and my husband travelled to a beautiful little hideaway spot just north of Brisbane. I have been here three times before & photographed two fashion shoots here. It's one of my most favourite locations.

We travelled an hour away from our home in Springfield to photograph the engagement session of Stephanie + Tomas. These two are such beautiful people... young & in love. I am also lucky enough to be able to photograph their wedding in August at another one of my favourite spots, Albert River Winery.

Monday started off with a little doubt as we got closer to the location & it was pouring rain! I was unsure if we'd be able to do the shoot, but thankfully the rain cleared up and the sun came out. I was photographing for about an hour and then silly me decided to step into the creek for a better angle and I slipped and fell in with my camera! Unfortunately camera did not survive (Thank you Lord for Insurance!) but all of the photos did. So, here are the beautiful shots I captured before I submerged my camera in the creek :P And for all those concerned about the camera, it will be getting replaced by another of the same model & also a brand spanking new top-of-the-range Canon 5D Mk3 will be purchased as my new main camera which was the 5D Mk2. An excellent excuse to buy a new camera!
